Cutback Water Coaster™: First RocketBLAST® Coaster on the East Coast and in Virginia

Water Country USA® has opened Cutback Water Coaster™, the first RocketBLAST® coaster on the East Coast and a first for Virginia.

Cutback Water Coaster™, the first RocketBLAST® coaster on the East Coast and a first for Virginia, made a splash during the grand opening this month.

Aboard a four-person raft, Cutback Water Coaster‘s riders speed along an 856-foot slide, jet through tunnels and slide onto the wide-open space of five massive saucer-shaped features. Cutback’s saucers and water jet propulsion system create the sensation of a roller coaster, moving riders up long, steep inclines and through lightning-fast drops at thrilling speeds of 35 feet per second.

Guests can enjoy Cutback Water Coaster, and all of Water Country USA’s fantastic thrill slides, with a membership. Opportunities are available to make unlimited visits to Water Country USA and Busch Gardens Williamsburg throughout the year.

SeaWorld San Diego’s Dueling Roller Coaster “Tidal Twister”

SeaWorld San Diego guests are feeling the power of the ocean this summer with the launch of the park’s all-new Tidal Twister roller coaster. This horizontal, figure-8, dueling coaster—the first of its kind in the world—opened the public on May 24.

SeaWorld San Diego guests recently launched the park’s all-new Tidal Twister roller coaster.  This horizontal, figure-8, dueling coaster is the first of its kind in the world.

As Tidal Twister accelerates to 30 miles per hour, riders will twist and bank as if they are riding the tide along a tight, figure-8 track that includes dynamic Zero-G roll at the center section. Two trains holding 16 passengers each load at opposite ends of the  figure-8 and cross in the center with guests facing both forward and backward on the trains. A lower-height requirement of 48 inches makes this attraction a perfect ride for younger guests and families.

Tidal Twister, elevated 16 feet off the ground, is adjacent to the Aquaria touch pool and aquarium, the perfect location to spotlight SeaWorld’s continuing commitment to conservation awareness and action, focusing on sustainable aquaculture and coral reef protection.
